But the challenge was setting up my camera in the pitch dark before the sun rose. I couldn’t see much—just shadows and the faint outline of the mountains against the night sky.
I felt my way along the trail, my breath forming little clouds in the cold air. Every step crunched softly underfoot. I reached the edge of the lake and set up my tripod, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. Then, I waited, fingers stiff from the chill, watching as the sky slowly turned from black to deep blue.
And then, the moment came. The first light hit the peaks, turning them bright pink and gold. The water was so still, it mirrored the mountains perfectly. I clicked the shutter, capturing that magical reflection—the quiet beauty of dawn breaking over the Bells.
