Another great piece of photography art from this seller. This is my second purchase and both are stunning. They came much quicker. I don't even have the room painted or I would show photos of the wall.DenisePurchased Lake Tahoe Snowy Nevada View
Patience, persistence, and timing
To create art, I start with a good photograph. That requires being in the right place at the right time (which can mean getting up long before dawn to capture the morning light, or standing in 2 feet of snow). It requires persistence. The light may not be right, or the sun is behind clouds, or the animals aren't there. So often, I return again and again until the conditions are just right. It requires patience. I've often stood with my eye to my camera lens waiting for an animal to peek out from where they're hiding, or take off and move, or look my way.
And all that is just to capture a photo. But the camera is just a tool. It can't "see" what my mind's eye sees. To bring out the art requires long hours at the computer getting the image just right.
And all of this took years of practice.

Have you ever felt the calm of a quiet morning, where everything feels still and full of promise?
As a landscape photographer, my goal was to capture the beauty of Mono Lake at sunrise. Mono Lake is a unique place. It’s one of the oldest lakes in North America, over 760,000 years old. The water is incredibly salty, almost three times as salty as the ocean, and is home to tiny brine shrimp that draw birds from all around. But what makes Mono Lake truly special is its peacefulness, especially in the early hours of the morning.
I set out in the dark before dawn, feeling the chill in the air and fighting the urge to stay cozy in my warm sleeping bag. But I knew I had to get up. The stillness of the lake was calling me, and I wanted to capture its magic. I packed my camera and tripod and started my hike through the quiet, cool morning.
The air was crisp, and every step crunched softly underfoot. In the darkness, I almost missed the turn that would take me to the perfect spot by the lake. My heart quickened as I hurried down the path, the sky just beginning to lighten. I knew I needed to get there fast, to be ready for the perfect moment when the sun would rise and bathe the lake in a soft, golden light.
When I finally reached the water’s edge, everything was calm and quiet. The lake lay still, like a giant mirror reflecting the sky. I could feel a sense of peace wash over me, a moment of pure connection with nature. The world felt so quiet, as if it was holding its breath, waiting for the day to begin.
I set up my tripod, my fingers cold but steady. The light began to change, and the first rays of the sun peeked over the mountains. The sky turned soft shades of pink and gold, and the water shimmered like it was covered in tiny jewels. The calm of the morning made the scene even more beautiful, as if time itself had slowed down.
I pressed the shutter and captured the moment. The light was perfect, and the scene was breathtaking. I stood there for a moment, taking it all in, feeling a deep sense of peace and happiness.
I had done it. I had captured the quiet beauty of Mono Lake at sunrise. As I packed up and started back down the trail, I felt a warm glow inside, knowing I could share this beautiful, peaceful moment with others. It was worth the early rise and the cold morning air. This is why I love being a photographer.
