Another great piece of photography art from this seller. This is my second purchase and both are stunning. They came much quicker. I don't even have the room painted or I would show photos of the wall.DenisePurchased Lake Tahoe Snowy Nevada View
Patience, persistence, and timing
To create art, I start with a good photograph. That requires being in the right place at the right time (which can mean getting up long before dawn to capture the morning light, or standing in 2 feet of snow). It requires persistence. The light may not be right, or the sun is behind clouds, or the animals aren't there. So often, I return again and again until the conditions are just right. It requires patience. I've often stood with my eye to my camera lens waiting for an animal to peek out from where they're hiding, or take off and move, or look my way.
And all that is just to capture a photo. But the camera is just a tool. It can't "see" what my mind's eye sees. To bring out the art requires long hours at the computer getting the image just right.
And all of this took years of practice.

Does your heart sing with the sound of rushing water?
As a landscape photographer, my dream is to capture the beauty of Yosemite’s roaring waterfalls in springtime, as the winter snowfall melts. I set out on my hike in the late afternoon, my breath forming little clouds in the crisp air. The cool mist from the waterfalls refreshes my face, and my hands feel a bit chilled.
I hike up the trail, the ground damp from the melting snow. The sound of the waterfalls grows louder, and the mist creates a magical atmosphere. The sky begins to change colors, and I know I don't have much time before the perfect moment slips away. My challenge is to reach the vantage point and capture the shot before the light fades.
Finally, I arrive at the overlook. The cold seems to disappear as I set up my camera, my heart racing with excitement. The sun dips lower, casting a golden glow over the waterfalls. The mist catches the light, creating a rainbow effect that adds to the scene’s magic.
With a steady hand, I press the shutter and capture the moment. The light is perfect, the scene breathtaking. I stand there for a moment, taking it all in, feeling a deep sense of joy and accomplishment.
I have done it. I have captured the majestic power of Yosemite’s waterfalls in springtime. As I pack up and head back down the trail, I feel a warm glow inside, knowing I can share this beautiful moment with others. It is worth the chill and the mist. This is why I love being a photographer.
“But no temple made with hands can compare with Yosemite. Every rock in its walls seems to glow with life...as if into this one mountain mansion Nature had gathered her choicest treasures.” — John Muir
You have to visit Yosemite once in your lifetime, and if you're really lucky (and can afford it), stay at the Ahwanee Hotel.
About 10 million years ago, the Sierra Nevada was uplifted and tilted to form its unique slopes, which increased the steepness of stream and river beds, resulting in the formation of deep, narrow canyons. About one million years ago glaciers formed at higher elevations which eventually melted and moved downslope, cutting and sculpting the U-shaped valley that attracts so many visitors to its scenic vistas.
European American settlers first entered Yosemite Valley itself in 1851. There are earlier instances of other travelers entering the Valley but James D. Savage is credited with discovering the area that became Yosemite National Park. Despite Savage and other white men claiming their discovery of Yosemite, the region and Valley itself has been inhabited for nearly 4,000 years, although humans may have visited the area as long as 8,000 to 10,000 years ago.
Yosemite was critical to the development of the national park idea. Galen Clark and others lobbied to protect Yosemite Valley from development, ultimately leading to President Abraham Lincoln signing the Yosemite Grant of 1864 which declared Yosemite as federally preserved land. It was not until 1890 when John Muir led a successful movement which had Congress establish Yosemite Valley and its surrounding areas as a National Park. This helped pave the way for the National Park System.
