As a landscape photographer, I hoped to capture a stunning shot of the sunset in Aspen, right in the heart of the city. I knew the mountains were beautiful, but I wanted to show that you didn’t have to go far out of town to see it. The challenge was finding the perfect spot within city limits, without the buildings or cars getting in the way.
I wandered through the streets, looking for just the right view. Finally, I found a little park with a clear line of sight to the mountains. The sun was starting to sink low, turning the sky shades of pink and gold. I quickly set up my camera, the cool evening air brushing against my face.
As the sun dropped behind the peaks, the mountains lit up, glowing in rich colors. The sky seemed to wrap around them like a warm blanket. I snapped the shot, capturing the city and the mountains blending into one, the wild and the town side-by-side.
